The therapists at McConaghie Family Counseling have a variety of specialties and skills. However, we all share the same philosophy and approach to helping others. Here’s a little more about us:

Andrew McConaghie, LCSW and Tracy McConaghie, LCSW, RPT/S
received their Master’s Degrees in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1991. After working in a variety of psychiatric, school and children’s home settings, Tracy and Andrew began working in private practice in 1993. They opened McConaghie Family Counseling in 2000. Their professional memberships include the National Association of Social Workers, the Association for Play Therapy, the Positive Discipline Association, the Georgia Society for Adlerian Psychology, and the Collaborative Law Institute of Georgia. Andrew and Tracy have been married since 1988 and have two teenage children.

Andrew enjoys helping couples and individuals find meaningful, practical solutions using humor, compassion and direct advice. He specializes in helping couples find forgiveness and resolution following an affair or other betrayals. He also works with young adults, teenagers, and children age 10 and older.

Tracy works with adults, teens and children. She specializes in child counseling and is a Registered Play Therapist/Supervisor. In addition, she is passionate about Parent Education/Coaching and is a Certified Positive Discipline Lead Trainer. Tracy provides Positive Discipline classes at our office and trains parents, schools and organizations across the country.

Dana Goldman, APC
holds a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University, and works with with clients of all ages with a particular focus on relationship issues, stress management, anxiety, depression, grief, sexuality, spirituality, and parenting.

Tara Thrutchley, APC
holds a master's degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University. Tara strongly believes in the healing potential and hope within every individual. She focuses on helping clients of all ages who struggle with relationship issues, anger management concerns, and challenges with regulating emotions. Tara’s other areas of expertise are addiction and anxiety.

Brent Sweitzer, APC
Brent Sweitzer, APC holds a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University and works with children, adults and couples. At the core of Brent’s approach to counseling is a non-judgmental acceptance and a genuine understanding of his clients' world. He has expertise in play therapy, loss & grief, career & spiritual direction, men's issues and adult ADHD.


Kathy Robb, Office Manager
Kathy Robb is our Office Manager. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan, and mother of three teenagers - a freshman in college and twins who are sophomores in high school. She is happy to help you with scheduling an appointment, or any other questions you have about the practice.
